How to apply for a Student Visa?

The Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) provides detailed and downloable information and application forms for Students Visa. The visa application forms are designed so that you can complete them with minimal, if any, help. However, if you wish to seek help in obtaining a visa, contact us.

Visa application forms in English, Portuguese or Spanish can be downloaded from the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) website. For application forms in host-country languages contact your nearest Australian Embassy or DIMA office.

Remember, a Student Visa is only granted if you have been accepted in a full-time course with a registered Australian education provider. You must attach your Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) letter with the visa application.

You will be asked to have a medical examination as part of the visa process. You will be given a list of approved doctors and special forms for the doctor to complete.

Unless instructed otherwise by the institution or your agent, you should send your visa application form (together with the correct visa charge and all necessary documents) to the nearest Australian Embassy or DIMA Office.

You must pay a visa application charge at the time of your application. The application charge is non-refundable. The current application fee is A$ 400.00. Other associated costs (if applicable) includes fees for Englist proficiency testing, medical costs, costs associated with your application, such as the cost of certified translations of some documents.

For detailed information, go to: Studying in Australia at DIMIA

Alternatively, you may apply for Students Visa online at: E-visa
