Jobs and Work Experience
Can I work?
If you are a full-time student (holding a valid Student Visa) with an Australian education provider, you may work part-time for up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and work full-time during your holidays. Permission to work under the Students Visa category can only be applied when you have commenced your studies in Australia as your education provider has to complete part of the application form.
Travellers between the ages of 18 to 30 years holding a valid Work Holiday Visa are also eligible to work in Australia. The visa allows travellers to do any kind of work of a temporary or casual nature, for a maximum period of three months with any one employer. However, this visa is only granted to travellers who hold a passport from a list of specified countries. See Work Holiday Visa for more information.
Please note that some jobs may require a police clearance and references.
