Work Holiday Visa

>> Au Pair - Demi Pair Females with a working holiday visa can stay for 3 months with a family in Perth and 3 months with a family in a rural, outback
Western Australia.

The Working Holiday Program provides a wonderful opportunity
for self-sufficient and enthusiastic young people from 14 participating
countries to spend up to 12 months exploring Australia, with the option
of engaging in casual employment when travel funds need replenishing.

Currently, Australia welcomes over 85,000 working holiday makers every
year! The Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural and
Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) has now made the visa application process
much faster and more convenient.

You can apply for a working holiday visa if you are over 18 years old and not yet 31 years old. This visa will allow you to work in Australia for one year but you can only work 3 months with each employer.

Australia has reciprocal Working Holiday maker arrangements in effect with the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Korea, Malta, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's Republic of China, Finland, the Republic of Cyprus, France, and Italy, Belgium and Taiwan.

Australia also signed a Working Holiday arrangement with Estonia on 20 September 2004. The date on which this arrangement is anticipated to take effect is early 2005.

In addition:

  • You must show that you can support yourself financially for the duration of your stay.
  • You must have a return airline ticket.
  • You must have no dependants.
  • You can be granted a working holiday visa only once.
